按針忌 | Miura Anjin Commemoration

平戸の国際交流に関心がある人々の集まりである「ひらの会」が主催して年に一度開催される、ウィリアム・アダムス（日本名：三浦按針）の功績を偲ぶ追悼会です。三浦按針は1600年に日本に到着した初めてのオランダ船の航海士で、外交・交易顧問として江戸幕府に仕えました。按針忌は、按針が他界した月である5月に彼の墓前で営まれます。按針忌とともに、オランダ人慰霊碑献花式も行われます。| A yearly event organised by the Hira No Kai, a local international relations association, to commemorate William Adams, also known as Miura Anjin. William Adams was the English navigator on board of the first Dutch ship that arrived in Japan in 1600. Adams served as a diplomatic and trade advisor to the Shogun. The commemoration is held at his grave in May, the month of Adams’s death, and is held together with a memorial service for the Dutch who passed away in Hirado.

長崎くんち | Nagasaki Kunchi

長崎くんちは16世紀後半に始まったお祭りです。現在でも、毎年10月7日～9日に開催されます。出島に居留していたオランダ人は、このお祭りに参加することが多かったため、その記録を残しています。現在、長崎市内の踊町は7つの組に区分されており、毎年奉納踊りで長崎の歴史を紹介しています。オランダ商館のあった出島町は、阿蘭陀船の上で子供らが楽器演奏する演し物を奉納します。男性たちが阿蘭陀船をかつぎ、大洋をわたって日本にやってきた様子を表現します。|Nagasaki Kunchi is a festival that originated in the late 16th century and is being held annually from 7 until 9 October. The Dutchmen, who stayed at Dejima, usually attended this event and they have written about it in their logs. Nowadays, seven neighbourhoods perform during the festival each year, and show the history of Nagasaki. The neighbourhood Dejima-machi, where the Dutch had their trading post, performs an act with a Dutch ship on which children play instruments. Meanwhile the ship is being carried by men to show that the ship crossed over the ocean to Japan

デ・レーケ記念 交流レガッタ | De Rijke Commemoration Regatta

明治末期の木曽三川改修事業に多大な功績を残されたオランダ人土木技師ヨハネス・デ・レーケを讃え、年に一回開催されるレガッタの大会です。ボート競技を通じて地域の活性化とまちおこしに寄与するものです。| Yearly boat race named after the Dutch civil engineer Johannis de Rijke, who was a Dutch engineer and has greatly influenced Japan's water management systems. It takes place at the Nagara River and it is intended to contribute to regional revitalization.

となみチューリップフェア | Tonami Tulip Fair

毎年4月末から5月初旬まで、砺波市ではチューリップフェアが開催されます。期間中は約600品種、250万本のチューリップが咲き誇ります。| Every year from the end of April until the beginning of May a tulip fair is being held in Tonami. During the fair over 2,5 million tulips are blooming from around 600 different varieties.

重願寺 | Juganji Temple

第二次世界大戦時に日本国内で亡くなったオランダ人捕虜の亡骸は、インドネシアに搬送される前にここ、重願寺に安置されました。毎年8月25日に、捕虜の慰霊祭が営まれます。| The remains of Dutch prisoners of war, who died in Japan during the Second World War, were kept here before they were shipped to Indonesia. Every year on the 25th of August the temple holds a ceremony to honor them.

かみゆうべつチューリップフェア | Kamiyubetsu Tulip Fair

かみゆうべつチューリップ公園では、毎年5月上旬～6月上旬にチューリップフェアが開催されます。このフェアのために希少種のチューリップがオランダから直輸入されます。園内の他の見どころとしては、木靴、風車、ストリートオルガンがあります。| Every year from the beginning of May till the beginning of June a tulip festival is held at the Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park. For this event several rare types of tulips are imported from the Netherlands. Other features of the park include a Dutch windmill, clogs and a street organ.

サラキ岬チューリップフェア | Saraki Cape Tulip Festival

かみゆうべつチューリップ公園では、毎年5月上旬～6月上旬にチューリップフェアが開催されます。このフェアのために希少種のチューリップがオランダから直輸入されます。園内の他の見どころとしては、木靴、風車、ストリートオルガンがあります。| From the end of April until mid-May amid tens of thousands blooming tulips several events are being held during the Saraki Cape Tulip Festival. Near the Saraki Cape the Kanrin Maru battleship, built in Kinderdijk, shipwrecked in 1871. Nowadays, a replica of the ship can be visited there.

木古内咸臨丸まつり | Kikonai Kanrin Maru Festival

8月上旬、木古内町では、咸臨丸パレードをはじめ、1871年にこの町の沖合で沈没した、オランダ、キンデルダイクで建造された咸臨丸を記念したさまざまなイベントが催されます。| In the beginning of August the town holds a Kanrin Maru parade and several events for the Kanrin Maru battleship, built in Kinderdijk, which sank near Kikonai Town in 1871.

オランダ秋祭り | Holland Autumn Festival

1993年以来毎年鏡石市で開催されている祭りです。催し物には、オランダ衣装を身にまとった鏡石町民による『牧場の朝』の合唱もあります。| A yearly event since 1993 in Kagamiishi Town. Activities include a performance of the 'Makiba no asa' song by locals in Dutch folk costumes."

佐倉チューリップ祭り | Sakura Tulip Festival

佐倉ふるさと広場で毎年4月に行われる祭りで、オランダ風車「リーフデ」の周囲には数万のチューリップが咲き誇ります。オランダ関連のさまざまなイベントも開催されます。| A yearly event in April in the Sakura Furusato Square, in which hundreds of thousands tulips bloom around the Dutch windmill 'Liefde' and various other Dutch activities are held.

三浦按針祭観桜会 | William Adams Cherry Blossom Party

三浦按針として知られるウィリアム・アダムスの生涯を偲んで、塚山公園で毎年4月8日に開催される式典です。第二次世界大戦中に中断され、一度その長い歴史が途絶えました。しかしその後復活し、1948年からは毎年開催されています。| A yearly festival on the 8th of April in the Tsukayama Park to commemorate the life of William Adams, also known as Miura Anjin. The festival was held for a long time before the Second World War, but got suspended. However it returned in 1948 and has since been held every year.

咸臨丸フェスティバル式典 | Kanrin-Maru Memorial Ceremony

1857年に、日本の発注によりオランダで建造された咸臨丸の偉業を讃え、毎年4月下旬または5月上旬に行われる式典です。咸臨丸は、日本の船では初めて太平洋横断を成し遂げた蒸気船です。式典は、咸臨丸が1860年に米国に向けて出港した地、浦賀に所在する住友重機械工業（株）浦賀工場内で行われます。| A yearly festival at the end of April or beginning of May to celebrate the achievements of the Kanrin-Maru, built in the Netherlands and delivered to Japan in 1857. It was the first Japanese ship that crossed the Pacific sea. The ceremony is being held at the Mitsubishi Heavy Machinery Company, Uraga Factory, the same city where the Kanrin-maru set off for its journey to the United States in 1860.

按針祭 | Anjin Festival

伊東市最大の祭りである按針祭は、1947年から開催されています。按針祭では約10,000発の花火が打ち上げられ、夜空を飾ります。この祭りは、ウィリアム・アダムの日本語の名前の三浦按針にちなんで名付けられています。| Since 1947 the biggest event of Ito City has been the Anjin Festival. During this event around 10,000 pieces of firework go up in the air, creating an amazing view. The festival is named after Anjin Miura, which is the Japanese name of William Adams.

ケンペル・バーニー祭り | Kaempfer and Birnie Festival

毎年4月中旬に、ドイツ人の博物学者ケンペルと英国人貿易商バーニーを讃える祭りが石碑の前と、元箱根公民館内で催されます。彼らは、箱根の自然を深く愛していました。ケンペルは広範にわたる日本植物誌を著した最初の人物です。C.M.バーニーは、箱根近隣の自然を保護することの大切さを訴えました。| Every year in mid-April the Kaempfer and Birnie festival is held at their stone monument and at the Moto Hakone Community Center. Both had a passion for the nature of Hakone.Kaempfer was the first person who extensively described the Japanese flora and Cyri Montague Birnie made an effort for the importance of the preservation of the nature near Hakone.

博多どんたく港まつり | Hakata Dontaku Port Festival

「博多どんたく」は、治承３年（１１７９年）に始まったと筑前国続風土記（貝原益軒著）に記されている「松ばやし」をその起源とする凡そ830年余の伝統行事である。オランダ語のZondag（ゾンターク、休日の意）がその語源と言われている。昭和３７年、「どんたく」は、市民総参加の『福岡市民の祭り「博多どんたく港まつり」』となり、現在に至る。毎年5月3・4日の2日間、老若男女が 思い思いの仮装でシャモジを叩いて町を練り歩き、町に作られた舞台、広場で踊りを披露し、町中がどんたく一色で湧き返る。| The Hakata Dontaku Port Festival is held yearly on the 3-4 May. The festival originates from the local custom dating back to the Heian period (13th century), called ‘toka’ or ‘matsubayashi,’ during which local people praised the feudal lord on the occasion of New Year. The word ’Dontaku’ comes from the Dutch word ‘Zondag,’ meaning Sunday. People dressed up in colourful clothing parade through various streets of Fukuoka, while dancing and clapping ladles. Today, it is celebrated as a citizens‘ festival and many people from in/outside of Fukuoka, get together on 3-4 May to celebrate.
